Kadai Paneer Recipe

Kadai Paneer is a classic North Indian dish made with bell peppers, tomatoes and soft cubes of paneer. Using our Kadai Paneer Spice Mix, this recipe creates a rich, aromatic curry with a lightly spiced, smoky flavour.
Shopping List
- Bell peppers – 3 large
- Tomato – 3 large
- Onions – 2 large, chopped OR 300 g
- Ginger – 1 tsp, crushed
- Oil – 2–3 tbsp
- Paneer – 3 cubes or 600 g
- Coriander leaves – handful
- Milk or cream – optional
- Salt – to taste
Cooking Method

Prepare the vegetables
Chop the peppers lengthwise, removing the stem and seeds.
Chop tomatoes and onions. -
Cook the base
Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions for 5 minutes until soft.
Add tomatoes and cook on medium heat for another 5–10 minutes until softened. -
Add spices and blend
Add our Kadai Paneer Spice Mix and salt.
Cook for 5 minutes, making sure the spices do not burn.
Once softened, let the mixture cool slightly and blend into a paste. -
Combine and cook
Add the blended mixture back to the pan.
Add chopped peppers and paneer.
Add water to adjust consistency as needed. -
Finish
Cook on low heat until the peppers soften slightly but still hold their shape.
Add coriander leaves and a splash of milk or cream if desired.
Serve hot with naan, roti or basmati rice.
Recipe Notes
- For a thicker gravy, use less water
- Gluten free and nut free
- Add green chillies for more heat
