Paneer Butter Masala is a creamy, mildly spiced North Indian dish made with tomatoes, butter and soft cubes of paneer. Using our Paneer Butter Masala Spice Mix, this recipe creates a smooth, rich sauce with gentle heat and aromatic depth.
Shopping List
- Paneer or tofu – 2 cubes or 400 g
- Onions – 300 g or 2 medium, sliced
- Tomato – 200–300 g or 3 medium, sliced
- Butter – 1 tbsp
- Ginger – ½ inch, diced
- Garlic – 2–3 cloves, diced
- Coriander leaves – chopped
- Pepper – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Milk or cream – optional
Cooking Method

Cook the onions and tomatoes
In a pan, melt butter and sauté onions on low heat until soft.
Add tomatoes and sauté for a few minutes until softened. -
Add ginger, garlic and spices
Add ginger and garlic.
Add pepper, salt and the full pack of Paneer Butter Masala Spice Mix.
Stir and cook until everything is mixed well. -
Blend the base
Let the mixture cool slightly.
Blend into a smooth paste for the signature creamy texture. -
Finish the sauce
Add water to adjust consistency.
Cook for a few minutes on low heat. -
Add paneer and finish
Add paneer cubes and simmer gently.
Add milk or cream if desired.
Finish with coriander leaves.
Serve with naan, chapati or basmati rice.
